He is survived by: his children, Angela McDowell, Candi Phillips (Timothy Bearden) and Jeff Phillips; his grandchildren, Zoey McCord, Chloe McCord, Jada Bearden, Bre McDowell and Kota McDowell; his father Obie Phillips; and his brother Ronald Phillips (Joan).
