He was predeceased by: his wife Atha Joyce Hudson; and his son-in-law John Devon McCarter. He is survived by: his daughters, Dawn McCarter and Angie Smith (Steve); his grandsons, Kyle McCarter (Fairen Walker-McCarter) and Chase McCarter (Emily Phillips); and his great grandchild Olivia Lane McCarter. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
