He was predeceased by: his mother Helen Newton Derby; and his former wife Joan May Derby. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Myrick Derby; his children, Paul Derby (Susan Frew), Rick, Peter Derby (Dawn) and Holly Suggs; his grandchildren, Kemly Derby, Travis Derby (Nicole) and Luke Derby (Mary Morrison); his great grandchildren, Caleb Derby and Trace Derby; and his siblings, Deanne Grunow, Sandra Maloy and Michael Derby (Lois). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
