He was predeceased by: his parents, Joh Benson, Sr and Hattie Lee Benson; and his brother Alfred. He is survived by: his wife Hazel D. Benson; his children, Verdelle Murphy of Pensacola, FL, Johnnie Mae Gulley, Maceo Benson, Julia Thomas, Pera Lee Thomas, John Wayne, Ginia Benson, Dorothy Chapmen of Pewaukee, WI and Sharon Chapman; and his brother Ruben Benson of Pensacola, FL.. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and beloved friends.
