He was predeceased by: his wife Kate Murphree; his parents, Harris Murphree and Mildred Murphree; his siblings, Rodger Murphree, Joel Murphree, Dot Palmes and Marjorie Rainer; his son-in-law Larry Hill; and his grandson Jeffery Harris Hill.
He is survived by: his daughters, Susan Ray (Bishop) and Janet Hill; his grandchildren, Guy Davis (Caryn), Boyd Davis (Julie), Jennifer Hill and Debbie Coshatt (Alan); his great grandchildren, Wes Davis, Lindsay Davis, Braedyn Davis, Miller Davis, Kate Coshatt and Andrew Coshatt; and his great great grandchild Sadie Marie Davis.
