We are sad to announce that on February 17, 2021, at the age of 77, Heddy Johnson Cox of Elba, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Houston Johnson and Nellie Johnson; and her brothers, Mack and Clifford Johnson. She is survived by: her spouse Ferrin Cox; her children, Michele Gerlach (Tom) of Andalusia, Chris Cox (Penny) of Opelika and Eric Cox (Karen) of Excel; her sister Theresa Johnson Adams of Destin; her grandchildren, Sarah and Christopher Cox of Opelika; and her great grandchildren, Kevin, Ann, Kate, Carson Gerlach, Anthony, Hillary, Gage, Emmy Brantley, Cody Crutchfield and Kaylen Crutchfield. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Because of the COVID pandemic, private family services are planned Saturday with Steve Reneau, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, 503 Davis St., Elba, AL 36323; the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or act.alz.org; or the charity of one's choice.
