Gurves is survived by: wife Erma Simmons of Elba, AL; children, Cindy Simmons Nelson (PoJo) of Glenwood, AL, Kathy Simmons Isbell (James) of Evans, GA, Donald Simmons (Bonnie) of Troy, AL and Lesa Simmons Johnson (Johnny) of Enterprise, AL; and sister Mamie Spann Clark of Basin, AL. Gurves is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
