She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen "Betty" Krohe Mathews and Harold Dale Mathews; and her husband Jerry. She is survived by: her sons, Chris (Kristen) and Doug (Karen); her grandchildren, Ashleigh Scott (Brandon), John Shumake, Zoe Brackin (Daniel), Noah Shumake (Abi) and Jonah Shumake; and her sisters, Darlene Harris and Elaine Pierce. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the Shumake family requests that donations be made to: The Neighborhood Christian Center (NCC) in Decatur, Alabama.
