It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jane Martin of Daphne, Alabama, born in Marion, Mississippi, who passed away on February 2, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Waldo Simmons and Ruth Rowley Simmons Martin; her sister Marilyn Simmons; her stepfather J. H. Martin; and her brothers-in-law, Dr. Charles Martin of Natchez and Thomas Ginn of Columbia.
She is survived by: her husband David H. "Dave" Martin; her children, Charlotte Pierce of Hattiesburg and Joel Martin (Tina) of Daphne, Alabama; her grandchildren, Mary Margaret Mitchell (Brandon) of Hattiesburg, Katherine Powers (Adam) of Manchester, Trey Pierce of Hattiesburg and Emma Martin of Daphne; and her sisters-in-law, Edna Ginn of Columbia and Betty Martin Jennings of Natchez.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson or to The Chancel Choir of First United Methodist Church in Columbia.
