He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter J. Treutel Jr. and Mildred Schonekas Treutel; and his former wives, Karen Kergosien Treutel and Pennie Herring Treutel. He is survived by: his wife Karen Elizabeth Kergosien; his children, David Treutel Jr. (Anna), Steve Treutel (Debbie), Missy Schmidt (Ted), Cathy Kidd (Steve) and Suzy Gachassin (Nick); and his grandchildren, Trey Treutel (Joy), Alex Treutel, Hunter Treutel (Peyton), Haleigh Treutel, Jennings Treutel (Misako), Grace Treutel, Liam Treutel, Liza Treutel, Chase Schmidt (Janna), Matthew Schmidt, Mary Margaret Cartmill (Chris), Claire Lollis (Matthew), Emily Schmidt, Caroline Gachassin, Adam Gachassin and Bailey Kidd. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been set up for David through Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Pass Christian, MS, Our Lady of the Gulf St. Vincent de Paul Society, Bay St. Louis, MS and Archangel Radio in Fairhope, AL.
