She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Alvin Burdette Freeman and Mabel Royal Freeman; her former husband James William "Bill" Meriwether; her husband Brittain Simms "Doc" Askew; her sisters, Esther Freeman Smith and Dorris Freeman Gilbert; her nephew Al Gilbert; her daughters, Ann Askew Headstream and Lee Askew Clarke; her grandchildren, Rob Headstream, Carole Ann Fields (Chuck), Michelle Clarke of Daphne, Alabama and William "Britt" Headstream (Jessica) of Rock Springs, Wyoming; and her nephews, Sonny Gilbert of Palmetto and Christy Smith Kline of Ball Ground, Georgia..
The funeral will be a private family graveside service due to Covid-19 on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Oak Hill Cemetery, with pastors Gary Parrish and Charles Robinson to officiate.
