He was predeceased by: his wife Martha Simpson; his son Jimmy Simpson, Jr. (Pete); his grandson Joshua Hamm; his parents, Melvin Simpson and Faye Simpson; and his siblings, Melvin Simpson, Jr. (Bobo), Ed Simpson, Ted Simpson and Alice Faye Simpson.
He is survived by: his children, Martha (Sissy), Nunley (Eddie) of Muscle Shoals and Laura Green (Mitchell) of Cherokee, Alabama; his sister Sheila Campbell of Belmont, MS; his grandchildren, Garron Green (Taylor) and Bailey Bracken (Zack); his great grandchild Colt Bracken; and his grandchildren, Troy Haraway and Kaylee Haraway.
