Herman Gowens Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 8, 2021, at the age of 100, Herman Gowens in Cherokee, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Mavis Pope Gowens; his parents, Walt Gowens and Fannie Vickers Gowens; his brothers, Odus, Vester and Joe Gowens; and his daughter-in-law Billie Jo Gowens.
He is survived by: his sons, H. Wayne Gowens and Gary Gowens (Rita Gresham); his granddaughters, Carol Tierce (Chris), Cheryl Kiser (Brent) and Joy Cribbs (Michael); and his great grandchildren, Amanda Walker (Blake), Kristin Tierce and Abigail Cribbs.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Union Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund.
