It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gregory Smothers of Carbon Hill, Alabama, who passed away on September 30, 2021, at the age of 49, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Mitchell Wayne Smothers, Sr.; his brother Mitchell Wayne Smothers, Jr.; his brother-in-law Keith Garrison; his niece Brittany McFarland; and his nephew Michael McGuff.
He is survived by: his mother Pamela Smothers of Carbon Hill, AL; his siblings, Kimberly Smothers of Jasper, AL., Kristy Freeman (John) of Jasper, AL and Mike Smothers (Brittany S.) of Morrisonville, IL; his children, Haley Smothers (Slader Cagle) of Jasper, AL, Shaelyn Smothers of Jasper, AL, Emily Smothers of Jasper, AL and Elijah Smothers of Carbon Hill, AL; his grandson Zayden Cagle of Jasper, AL; the mother of his children April Smothers of Jasper, AL; and his uncles, Philip Kilpatrick (Becky) and Eddie Smothers of Walker Co. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
