She was predeceased by: her husband C. R. 'Buck Buchanan; her son Charles Buchanan; and her son-in-law Dale Purkey. She is survived by: her children, Becky Purkey, Gene Buchanan (Jerry), Rosalind Thacker (Ronnie) and Tim Buchanan (Debbie); her grandchildren, Laura Bussey, Shawn Buchanan, Kevin Purkey (Mandy), Carrie Kramer (Ryan), Holly Higgins, Rachel Boullemet (James), Sarah Buchanan, Justin Buchanan and Cody Buchanan (Jessica); and her great grandchildren, Ali Bussey, Kaylin, Eden Bussey, Maggie Kramer, Claire Purkey, Wyatt Boullemet, Andrew Purkey, Keegan Buchanan, Natalie Higgins, Keeli Buchanan, Caroline Buchanan, Emmy Buchanan and Bennett Buchanan. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
