He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Ross Sanders and Annie Mae Sanders; and his brothers, Bobby Joe Sanders (Joyce), David Ray Sanders and Wayne Sanders.
He is survived by: his wife Bettye Sanders; his children, Leon Mack "Lanny" Sanders, Jr. (Voncile), Karen Sanders Agerton, Chrystie Sanders Evans (Hank) and Elizabeth Sanders McCook (Brian); his grandchildren, Rebeca Markham (Tyler), Shelby Kathryn Lariscey (Blake), William Harris Evans, Stephen Ross Evans, Henry Fairbanks Evans, Hannah Elizabeth McCook and Mattie Hansen McCook; and his great grandchildren, Mack Thomas Markham, Adeline Betts Markham and Elouise Kate Lariscey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
