She is survived by: her daughters, Dr. Michele Whitman Collier (Brian), Melanie Whitman and Monica Whitman Smoot; her grandchildren, Austin White, Lexie Collier McDonald (Jonathan), Justin White, Cade Collier, Peyton White, Maggie Ragland, Sara Smoot and Carter Smoot; her nephew Wesley Gleaton (Mejia); her husband Bill; and her siblings, Nancy Gleaton May and Eric Gleaton. She is also survived by family members and friends.
After retiring, Linda continued her service to education by frequently substituting in the Mobile County Public Schools until the onset of COVID-19 in 2020.
