He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Rusty" Champion and Margaret Champion; his sisters, Delores Champion and Drenda Williams; and his grandson Corey Martin.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Champion of Flomaton; his children, Joseph Peavy (Lisa) of Georgiana, AL, Sandi Carter of South Carolina, Margaret House of South Carolina, Shea Lambert of Flomaton, AL, Jaime Johnson of Flomaton and Pam Martin of Forest Home, AL; and his siblings, J. P. Champion (Dee Dee) of Abbeville, AL, Russell Champion of Abbeville, AL and Diane Champion of Abbeville, AL. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
