He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie Ridgeway, Sr. and Essie Bush Ridgeway; his siblings, Annie Moore (Ike), Fannie Mathews (Willie), Jessie Ridgeway (Queenie Bell), Rosie Ella Crittenden (Herbert), Willie Lee Todd (Ulysses), Tommie, Sr. Ridgeway (Ilene Smith) and Lillie Dixon (Marvin); and his brother-in-law Morris, Sr..
He is survived by: his daughter Debra of Alexandria, VA; his wife Edith of Lexington, KY; his son Leander, Sr. (Delphine); his grandchildren, Nakia Ridgeway of Alexandria, VA, Keisha Bowie (Jeremy) of College Station, TX, Tora Carter (Brandon) of Lexington, KY, Leander Ridgeway, Jr. and James Sanford; his great grandchildren, Keileigh Bowie, Sarai, Sinai Carter, Bryson and Kendall Sanford; and his sisters, Lessie Dixon of Dayton, OH and Cleola Bailey. He is also survived by In-Laws; cousins; several generations of nieces, and nephews; and a host of friends.
