He was predeceased by: his parents, Basil T. Murphy and Ethol Brady Murphy; and his siblings, Sandra M. Langley and Jerry Murphy. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Boyd Murphy of Irondale; his sons, J. Donovan Murphy of Birmingham and Patrick Murphy of Wedowee; his brother-in-law Benny Cosper; and his nieces and nephews, Tawyna, Jeff Cash, Ben, Robin Cash, Ramsey Kate Cash, Chris Cash, Jordan Cash, Marlee Cash and Kipton Cash.
