Jesse Ann Jemison Obituary

We are sad to announce that on October 1, 2022, at the age of 94, Jesse Ann Jemison of Birmingham, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Elbert S. Jemison, Jr. of Birmingham, AL; her parents, John Sullivan Yarbrough and Ada Mae Rand Yarbrough of Huntsville; and her siblings, Helen Yarbrough Porter of Huntsville, John Sullivan Yarbrough, Jr. of Hampton, VA and Minnie Lois Yarbrough Lowry Neal of Huntsville.

She is survived by: her children, Anne Jemison Heppenstall (Rest), Elbert "Bo" S. Jemison, III and Richard Rand Jemison; her grandchildren, Rest Baker Heppenstall, Jr. (Jessie) and Jess Anne Heppenstall Ragsdale (Ben); her great grandchildren, James Jemison Ragsdale, Rest "Baker" Heppenstall, III, Virginia Nelms Heppenstall and Margaret "Mims" Sevier Ragsdale; and her sister-in-law Jeanie Jemison Matthews (George W. Matthews, Jr.).
