He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Ashworth, Sr. and Beryl Ashworth; and his brothers, Henry Ashworth, Jr., Jack Ashworth and Bob Ashworth.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Higginbotham Ashworth; his sons, Donald Lee Ashworth, Jr. and Russell Ashworth (Dianne); his grandchildren, Haley Ashworth Jernigan (Shaun), Heather Ashworth and David Lee Ashworth; and his great grandchild Hunter Jernigan.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home (1591 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Jefferson Memorial Gardens East (1591 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235).
