He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Amason and Lucille Sanford Amason; his wife Sylvia Cottingham Amason; and his brother Donald Amason. He is survived by: his sons, Frank Amason (Jan), Danny Amason (Teresa) and Carl Amason (Paula); the mother of his children Viola "Betty" Amason; his grandchildren, Leslie Amason, Jesse Amason, Grace Owens (Matt) and Laura Maxon (Brad); his great grandchildren, Gavin Amason, Raylan Owens and Katelyn Owens; his stepchildren, Lisa Sprayberry (Rodney), Charla Atkinson and Brent Cottingham (Nellie); his stepgrandchildren, Kenton Sprayberry (Tiffany), Kevin Sprayberry and Leighton Sprayberry; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Jayden Sprayberry, Lana Sprayberry and Ember Sprayberry; and his sister Janice Nail. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
The family has requested the in lieu of flowers, donation be made to the Rosa United Methodist Church General Fund.
