He was predeceased by: his son Carl Mitchell Deavours; his parents, Marion J. Deavours and Paralee Johnson Deavours; and his siblings, Gorman "Pap" Deavours and Virginia Woods.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Nelson Deavours of Berry; his daughter Cecelia Campbell (Roy) of Berry; and his sisters, Juanita Guy of Northport and Agnes Freeman of Northport. He is also survived by two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Donations can be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
