He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Clayton and Bertie Leona Godwin; his former wife Bobbie June Ward Godwin; his son Dwight Godwin; and his siblings, Armontine "Tina" Biggs, Julian William Godwin and Mary Evelyn Godwin.
He is survived by: his wife Marvette Pullen Godwin; his sons, Doug Godwin (Vicki) of Oak Grove, FL, Lamar Godwin (René) of Oak Grove, FL, Ryan Godwin (Crystal) of Oak Grove, FL and Mark Dean (Lois) of Oak Grove, FL; his daughter-in-law Judy Godwin; and his sisters, Joyce Fore of Robinsonville, AL and Betty Ann Dennis (Donald) of Oak Grove, FL. He is also survived by his eighteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
