She was predeceased by: her parents, Grady Forte and Lula Moye Forte; her husband H. R. "Mac" McKissack; her children, Tilda Jerkins and Eddie Jerkins; and her siblings, James Forte, Thelma Gray, Maggie Burch and Douglas Forte.
She is survived by: her daughter Theresa J. Suttle (Ted) of Canoe, AL; and her granddaughters, Sarah Wilson (Tyler) and Rebecca (Joe).
