He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger F. Gibson and Virginia Slone; his brother Fletcher Gibson; his daughter Sandra Townsend-DiSabatino; and his grandson Michael Townsend.
He is survived by: his wife Marion Gibson; and his children, Robert Gibson (Linda), Roger Gibson (Jerri), Mary Barnett (Paul) and John Gibson (Melinda). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
