With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Kazuko Katayama Richards of Arab, Alabama, who passed away on May 15, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hiroshi Katayama and Tsuneko Kamigaki Katayama; her husband Okey J. Richards; and her siblings, Hitoshi Katayama, Akira Katayama and Hiroko Kitagawa.
She is survived by: her children, Virginia Lee (Billy), Mark Richards (Kendall) and John Richards (Becky); her sisters, Sakiko Shimakawa and Yasuko Vanooyen; her grandchildren, Elaina Franks (Danny), Miranda Gerhard (Cody) and Summer Miller; and her great grandchildren, Asher Franks, Matthias Franks, Luke Gerhard and Sky Lynn Miller.
