With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia Lester Yates (Alexander City, Alabama), who passed away on June 15, 2023 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her former husband James Bryan Yates; her parents, Jesse Carl Lester and Reba Candis Lester; and her sisters, Doris Hicks, Claire Leach, Evelyn Bailey and Dean White.
She is survived by: her daughter Penny Yates Moody (Clinton, Jr.) of Alexander City; her grandchildren, Patrick Bryan Moody (Crystal) and Desiree Green (Bryan); her great grandchildren, Keegan Sharpe, Bryan Moody, Paislee Greyce Sharpe and Sawyer Moody; her siblings, Jesse C. Lester, Collen Davis, Geneva Messer and Sandra Rodgers; and her brother-in-law Bennie Lee Yates (Sonja). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
