It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bessie Mae Russell of Alexander City, Alabama, who passed away on July 2, 2023, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Johnny Russell; her parents, John Will and Ruthie Thomas; and her siblings, Mavis Ransaw and Frederick Thomas.
She is survived by: her children, Laura Jean Aker of Raleigh, NC and Eddie Jackson, III of Alexander City, AL; her granddaughters, LaShon Aker of Charlotte, NC and Arianna Taylor of Dadeville, AL.; and her siblings, Lucille Johnson of Dadeville, AL, Linda Thomas, Melissa Ann Hutchins of Alexander City, AL., Larry Thomas of Alexander City, AL, Dewayne "Pete" Thomas (Ann) and John "Wayne" Thomas (Vanessa) of Birmingham, AL.. She is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
