He was loved and cherished by many people including: his siblings, Phillip Gerken, Jan-Dirk Gerken and Hannie Gerken; his spouse Ann-Marie; his children, Tine-Mieke, Gilanne, Adam and Rachel; his children-in-law, Jean-Pierre and Annabel; and his grandchildren, Darcy, Theodore (Adeline), Jolyon, Philemon, Eelke and Bodhi. He was also cherished by his nieces and nephews and grand nieces.
