He was predeceased by: his spouse Brenda; and his sibling-in-law Beth Warner (Brisbane). He is survived by: his children-in-law, Roy Kiyoto-Ward, Graeme Kiyoto-Ward and Fumiyo Kiyoto-Ward (Auckland); and his siblings-in-law, Peter Ward, Dot Ward (Queensland), Ian Ward and Sharon Ward (Taupo).
