He was predeceased by: his spouse Elva Margaret Wolthaus; his sibling Nel Huis; his child Susan-Marie Riddell; his siblings-in-law, Edna Meer and Beverley White; and his close friend Stuart Robertson.
He is survived by: his siblings, Nico Huis, Sara Boogert and Co Van Den Boogert; his children, Grandad Riddell of John, Jane Riddell, Leigh Hayes and Mathew Hayes; his great grandchildren, Tyler, Tegan and Tessa; his siblings-in-law, Jack Van Der Meer and Jim White; and his close friend Elizabeth Robertson. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
