He was predeceased by: his wife Lydia; his siblings, Jim Thompson (Joyce), Les Thompson, Phil Thompson (Kaye), Ida Saunders (Wilf) and Peggy Hay (George); and his brother-in-law Ross Reid.
He is survived by: his sister Kathleen Reid; his son David Thompson (Melanie); and his granddaughters, Erica and Kara Thompson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
