He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Thompson and Maria Thompson (Carswell); his sister May Spark (Don); his parents-in-law, Thomas Herbert Derbyshire and Anna Derbyshire (Bjornson); and also Mabel Lee.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann Thompson (Derbyshire); his sons, Don (Michelle) and Allan (Louise); his sister Evelyn; and his siblings-in-law, Ed Brandt, Norma and Bob. He is also survived by son Les (Ronna), 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
