He was predeceased by: his parents, Carey Purdy and Stella Purdy (Webb). He is survived by: his wife Mary (Murchison); his children, Marian (Michael), Ottawa, David Pictou (Janet), Alison and Halifax; his grandchildren, Joshua (Ingrid), Rachael and Samuel; his brother Robert Purdy (late Frances); and his sisters-in-law, Janet Purdy and Nora Ring (late Daryl). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
