He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellsworth and Louise; his sister Betty; and his grandson Dylan. He is survived by: his wife Heather; his son Justin (Chastity); his grandchildren, Stephanie, Zackery and Taygan; and his siblings, Ralph (Ann), Kenneth (Rosanne), Martin (Emmi), Douglas (Tara), Gordon and Tammy (Suzy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honour to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Prince Edward Island.
