He was predeceased by: his daughter Pauline; his parents, Melis Visser and Cornelia Visser; his brother Gerard; and his siblings-in-law, Roelofje and Martin.

He is survived by: his wife Ellen (Lagerweij); his daughters, Maria Stewart (Neil), Nicole MacDonald (Allan) and Rochelle Visser (Jerry); his grandchildren, Ryan, Megan (Noah), Alex, Corinne, Annabelle, Gabi, Coco and Jasmine; his siblings, Audrey, Peter, John (Michelle), Willy (Bram) and Henk (Catherine); and his sister-in-law Mary.
