He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret (Phillipson); his parents, Matilda and Thomas Hackett Jr.; his daughter-in-law Katie Hackett; and his siblings, Don, Donalda Jamieson and Barry.
He is survived by: his close friend Gladys Hamilton; his children, Steven, Marjorie Hackett of Lucknow, Larry Hackett, Kim Colling of Huron-Kinloss, Cheryl, Pat Beasley, Gail, Steve McPherson of Huron-Kinloss, Janice Hackett and Jim Diebel of Ayton; and his sisters, Lois Cunningham of Goderich, Joyce Elphick of Lucknow, Kathleen Ackworth of St. Thomas and Freda Langton. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
