He was predeceased by: his daughter Diane Van Beers; his parents, John and Hendrina; and his siblings, Adrian, Joe, Henry, Frances, Mary and Johanna.

He is survived by: his children, John Van Beers (Lisa), Donna Van Beers (Vince) and Linda Van Beers; his grandchildren, Justin (Katie), Nikita, Tia (Ian), Josh (Nicole), Adelle (Brandon), Bailey (Zach), Hunter, Kaitlyn and Victoria; his great grandchildren, Claire, Charlotte, Ivy, Eli and Speziale; and his siblings, Nellie (Andy), Jane (John) and John (Judy).

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to the Alzheimer's Society is appreciated by the family.
