He was predeceased by: his grandchildren, Ainsley and Violet; and his parents, Murray Swance and Doris Swance (White). He is survived by: his wife Nadine; his children, Jason Swance of Otterville, Trevor Swance (Nicole) of Dorchester and Kim Stager (Steve) of Courtland; his grandchildren, Bria, Waylon, Abilene, Lila and Daphne; his siblings, Brad Swance (Connie) of Tillsonburg and Lynn Swance-Priester (Wayne Van Opstal) of Norwich; and his brother-in-law David Hewitt (Karen) of Calgary. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
