It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donna Jane Phillips (Thunder Bay, Ontario), who passed away on October 2, 2018, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Violet Schinkel and Paul Schinkel; and her siblings, Don Schinkel, Ernie Schinkel and Marlene McKay.

She is survived by: her husband Walter George Phillips; her children, John Tarka, Tammy Tarka and Charlene Holt (Guy); her grandchildren, Danny Tarka (Laura), Kristal Hurley, Brittany Johnson (Gary), Chelsea Pomerleau (Tyler), Ty Holt, Jeffrey Chmilar and Jazmine Tarka; her great grandchildren, Caleigh, Haydence, Jordyn Tarka, Ryder Hurley, Delilah Johnson, Kade Johnson and Ryder Holt; her siblings, Yvonne Reid (Garry), Hertzel Naumoff (Bill), Paul Schinkel (Krys), Myna Haluck (Jim), Karen Lipchen (Gary) and Rhonda Tipping (Jeff); her siblings-in-law, Sandy Betker (Gerald) and John McKay; and her daughter Sheryl Takacs (John).
