He was predeceased by: his children, Paul and Lori; his great grandchild Cruz Rainone; his parents, Carmen and Antoinette (Fera); his siblings, Tony (late Florence), Mike, Louie, Connie Fredericks (late Evald), Angelina McQuire (late Neil) and Phyllis Miners; his father-in-law Everett; and his siblings-in-law, Joe, Shirley Diodati and Garnet Kennedy.

He is survived by: his close friend Joan (Kennedy); his sons, Tim, Steve (Marilyn) and Mark (Kim); his grandchildren, Laine Bertin (Riley), Alisha Denneny, Jorden Rainone (Cindy), Samantha Rainone, Joshua Rainone and Corey Rainone; his great grandchildren, Elijah, Jack Bertin, Cole, Drew Denneny, Sam, Grant Rainone and Milana; his sister-in-law Hazel; his mother-in-law Margaret Kennedy; and his siblings-in-law, Karen Tahti (Murray), Lois Scali, Phyllis and Ted Jarosz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Despite being born during a depression and dying during a pandemic Sam viewed life as a wonderful gift mainly due to family and the people you find along the way.

Memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to the Canadian Cancer Society or ARCH would be appreciated by the family.
