He was predeceased by: his wife Velma Desautel; and his parents, Ernie Desautel and Alice Souliere. He is survived by: his children, John Desautel (Christina), Melinda Desautel, Rhonda Caron (Kevin), Buddy Graves (Sarah) and Darren Graves (Lori); his grandchildren, Michaela, Jordan, Alyssa, Brianna, Taylor, Cody, Chris, Devon, Braitley, Alice, Maria and Eliana; his sister Sharon Grasley; and his sister-in-law Elva (late Frank). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
