She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Tensen and Tina Tensen (Trijntje); and her siblings, Willem, Peter Tensen and Thelma Braaksma.

She is survived by: her husband William Kapteyn; and her children, Sonya Robertson (David), Yolanda Campbell (James) and William.
