She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband William "Bill" Tate; her children, Timothy Tate, Scott Tate (Keith Trudell), Nicole Gillingwater (Jeffery) and Jody Tate; and her grandchild Kailyn Tate. She was also cherished by extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home (30 Worsley St, Barrie, ON L4M1L4). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (65 Amelia St, Barrie, ON L4M1M7). A reception will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 2:30 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery (208 Sunnidale Rd, Barrie, ON L4N5N9).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Elaine's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County (https://secure.alzheimeron.ca) or to Hospice Simcoe and are greatly appreciated by the family.
