He was predeceased by: his son Jeff Sergeant (Angie); his parents, Harry Sergeant and Marjorie Sergeant (Miller); his son Jeffrey; his brother Forrest Sergeant (late Carol Ann); his nephews, James and John Sergeant; his siblings-in-law, Betty Buffam, Rob and Donald Patterson; and his great-nephew Patrick Fraser.
He is survived by: his wife Lorna Sergeant (Patterson); his children, Dennis (Karen) and Kathy England (Glenn); his grandchildren, Megan Sergeant (Jordan Turcotte), Jake England, Brianna and Jayden Sergeant; his siblings, Florence Warren (late Ed), Earl Sergeant (Patricia) and Emelline Warren (late Victor); and his parents-in-law, Thelma Vincent, Gordon Patterson (Beverly), Dorothy Fraser (Peter), Elva Patterson Rutters and Cathy Patterson (late Rob). He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
