She was predeceased by: her husband Bob Bird (Robert); her son Robbie Bird (Robert); and her siblings, Irene Deacon, Alice Snider, Clare Grant and Ted Rich.

She is survived by: her sons, Ron (Beverley), Barry (Jenn) and Brian (Delayne); her grandchildren, Bobby, Darren, Valerie, Kevin, Brandon, Colin, Kyle and Justine; her great grandchildren, Eleanor and Jasper; and her caregiver Freda. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation.
