He was predeceased by: his wife Idena Laakkonen. He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Faye Secord of Burlington and Shelva Fleet (Martin) of Toronto; his grandchildren, Mark Secord (Anne) of Burlington, Matthew Fleet of British Columbia and Katherine Fleet of British Columbia; his great grandchildren, Zackary Secord of Toronto and Joshua Secord of Burlington; and his friend Arthemise Prieur of North Bay.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by his family.
