He was predeceased by: his parents, Horst Schmidt and Agnes Schmidt; and his brother Peter. He is survived by: his wife Gloria; his children, Tina LePoidvin (Brent), Cory Schmidt (Amy Wilkinson) and Mark Schmidt; his mother-in-law Catherine Bachman (late Jack); his brother-in-law Clarence Bachman (Cindy); his brothers, Rainer (Jackie), Norbert (Brenda), Gerhardt (Teresa) and Bernie (Cathy); his sister-in-law Carol; his grandchildren, Hayley, Jared, Kaitlin, Noah and Maya; and his close friend Elizabeth Telega.
